DeKalb County, GA – Three Killed, Two Injured in Fiery Collision
DeKalb County, Georgia (March 4, 2023) – On Thursday night, a fiery collision in DeKalb County closed all lanes at the intersection of Wesley Chapel Road and Snapfinger Road, leaving three people dead and two others hurt.
Around nine o’clock in the evening, fire personnel arrived on the scene. Investigators claim that after a sedan and a van collided, the sedan caught fire, trapping the driver and two other passengers inside, killing them all.
Two passengers in the van at the time of the collision managed to escape, and they were taken by ambulance to the hospital. At this point, nothing is known about their conditions.
DeKalb County Fire Assistant Chief stated, “We had heavy fire involvement in the vehicle that we extinguished and then we found the three fatalities”.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.
Fatal Car Accidents in Georgia
Everyone’s worst nightmare is learning that a close friend or family member has died or suffered life-threatening injuries in a car accident. A family may experience both financial and emotional hardship after a loved one dies in a motor vehicle crash.
A person who is injured in a car accident caused by the negligence of another driver has the legal right to file a personal injury claim and seek compensation from the negligent driver. They are entitled to compensation for any direct expenses incurred as a result of the accident.
If an accident victim dies as a result of their injuries, their surviving family members have the right to sue the at-fault driver for wrongful death. The deceased’s family will be able to seek justice for their loved one.
The family can file a wrongful death lawsuit to obtain financial compensation for the funeral costs and emotional suffering brought on by their loved one’s untimely passing.
The thought of settling an insurance claim or bringing a wrongful death lawsuit is probably the furthest thing from your mind when a member of your family is killed as a result of someone else’s negligence. The statute of limitations, however, severely restricts the amount of time you have to bring a wrongful death claim.
